Tell us a little bit about yourself

Pavan sitting down with Theo glasses

I'm a fashion merchandise planner for a swimwear/lifestyle brand that started in West London but is now based in the heart of London on Oxford Street.

I spend my days analysing sales data and working with the creative, marketing, ecommerce and sales teams to ensure we're bringing the best product to our customers through our stores and website or wholesale partners. You’ll find me crunching numbers in our office, surrounded by rails of swim shorts or working from home cosy in my sweatpants, drinking coffee and listening to music while I focus on bigger projects. It's not all desk work for me - I also get to visit our stores and see our products in action, which is always exciting.

When I'm not working, my biggest passion is being a parent to my adorable (sometimes) children. Once they’re asleep, aside from watching the latest box sets every streaming service has to offer, I fully immerse myself in the world of gaming by playing captivating single player games on my PS5.

I also like to embark on epic adventures and engage in thrilling battles in fantastical worlds with my friends playing dungeons and dragons

Moreover, I've discovered my passion for coffee and have turned my kitchen into a mini cafe with my collection of espresso machines and coffee paraphernalia. From carefully dialling in the bean grinder to brewing the perfect espresso shot and then transforming the steamed milk into latte art, every step in the process is an enjoyable and calming experience for me. It's a true art form that I've come to love and appreciate.

I used to play quarterback in a friendly American football flag league. Although a knee injury slowed me down, my love for American football hasn't diminished. I enjoy staying connected to the sport by watching the NFL and participating in fantasy leagues with my former team members and friends. It's an exciting way to stay connected to the game and put my knowledge to the test.

When did you first start wearing glasses?

My glasses have been with me throughout most of my life, I have been relying on them since the tender age of three.

Explain when you first discovered eyewear as an accessory.

For me they are a necessary tool for clear vision, rather than a fashion accessory. While some people might wear glasses to make a statement or enhance their appearance, to me, they are a crucial part of your daily life. However, while glasses are a necessary part of my life, that doesn't mean they can't look good and complement my personal style. After all, feeling confident and comfortable in your glasses can positively impact your overall well-being.

How many pairs of glasses do you have?

I currently have four pairs of glasses, and each frame is unique. With each new prescription, I invest in updating the lenses in my favourite frames, ensuring that I not only see clearly but also look good doing it. I've spent a pretty penny on these frames, so you better believe I'm going to keep wearing them.

Do you have a favourite pair?

My Theo frames are my current personal favourite. The clear frames offer a modern twist on a classic design, and the round shape compliments my face.

What do you look for in glasses? Is there a process of research before you buy? Is there a brand that you go to?

I approach it with an open mind. I love to browse through the selection on display and I’ll gravitate towards frames that catch my eye. While I don't have a set process, I do have a keen eye for quality and craftsmanship, so I always make sure to ask about the frames I'm interested in.

How do you choose what to wear each day eg mood, colour?

When it comes to choosing what to wear, I like to start with a single piece and build the rest of my outfit around it. For example, if I fancy wearing a specific top or pair of trainers, I will choose accessories and clothing to complement it. As someone who wears glasses, I also take into consideration which frames will work best with the outfit. However, I do have a general sense of what goes well together, so I'm able to make quick decisions. And of course, my beloved Theo frames always seem to match with anything I wear.

What have you got your ‘eye’ on next?

I’m feeling something tortoise shell……….

Do you collect anything else?

As someone who works in fashion, my closet is constantly expanding, and I have accumulated quite a collection of clothes, accessories, and shoes. However, I've had to slow down on collecting physical items, as I'm running out of space. Recently, I've become more interested in collecting watches, as they take up less room, and I find them to be a stylish and practical accessory. Additionally, I'm considering adding a new espresso machine and grinder, as I look to improve the coffee brewing hobby of mine.

How did you discover Eyeworks London?

One day, while watching an episode of The Great British Bake Off, I noticed that judge Prue Leith was wearing a stunning pair of blue glasses that immediately caught my eye. Intrigued, I did some quick research and discovered that the glasses were made by a brand called Kirk and Kirk. From there, I set out to find an optician that stocked Kirk and Kirk frames, and that's when I stumbled upon Eyeworks London. It turned out to be the perfect location for me, as it was conveniently located near my former office in West London.
